About Lucie Knight

I am one of the INPUT psychologists and have been involved with PPIP for the last year or so. I see my role as providing a link to the INPUT team and to support the former patients who have put such a lot of work and effort into creating the PPIP website and support service.

As a clinician I am often faced with a particular question when patients come for their nine months follow-up: “What happens now? Is this it?” While the strategies we teach people at INPUT are clearly self-management strategies, it is so useful to have a forum that helps to remind people of the things they learned here and to keep patients in touch with each other for mutual support.

We cannot provide an ongoing service for patients and it is great to be able to encourage patients to join PPIP after they are discharged from INPUT and to know that there is something they can tap into and contribute to. The success stories that are already on the website encourage me as a clinician and make me think it is all worth while.
